Tuscany
Florence - Pievescola - Radicondoli - San Gimignano - Rome
Tuscany | Toscana
This trip was part spritz crawl, part fairy tale. It started in Florence, where I met up with friends and we invented our own version of an aperitivo tour. Spritzes in hand, pizza to-go, winding through the golden streets like locals who happened to be celebrating something. The next stop was Pievescola, where we checked into a villa that looked like a postcard and felt like a dream. It was also approximately one million degrees. One afternoon, we detoured to San Gimignano for a wine tasting at Tenuta Torciano, where my friend’s tourism ties scored us a golf cart tour of the vineyard. I was the passenger princess, naturally. Tuscan countryside, royal pours, and a hazy golden sunset. It was as cinematic as it sounds.
The wedding itself was like stepping into someone else’s love story and being handed a glass of prosecco at the door. So many old college friends, so many beautiful details.
And then, Rome. After three days of dancing, sweating, and celebrating under the Tuscan sun, I did what any seasoned traveler would do: hopped on the big red bus, put on my sunglasses, and let the Eternal City glide past from an air-conditioned seat. Sometimes you’ve just got to let the bus do the walking. Pasta alla gricia, a spritz, and one last golden hour later… and that was the exhale at the end of a very full inhale.
